class method self.new

Ruby on Rails 3.0.20

Since v2.2.3 Last seen in v3.2.22.5

Available in: v2.2.3 v2.3.18 v3.0.20 v3.1.12 v3.2.22.5

Signature

self.new(attributes = nil)

New objects can be instantiated as either empty (pass no construction parameter) or pre-set with attributes but not yet saved (pass a hash with key names matching the associated table column names). In both instances, valid attribute keys are determined by the column names of the associated table – hence you can’t have attributes that aren’t part of the table columns.

Parameters

attributes opt = nil
